ok, it's fun at first, right until you really start to make progress and get up in levels. If you play for free, your progress will be SLOW , and you will get to a point where progress in advancing your characters will be near impossible. So, I spent money, which is rare for me. More money than I've spent on any PC or console game in a LONG time. And the returns have been more than disappointing, receiving characters and resources that are no better than what I've earning for free.
Played this game for over 2 years. Initially, my rating would have been three or four stars, but as you progress, it's obvious that it's a 'pay to play/win' game, and becomes frustrating. Add to that, probably due to declining numbers and in pursuit of revenue, the devs have made 'improvements' to the game which are shamelessly antagonistic to players who are not willing to gamble their $ on in-game 'upgrades' (offered with no reasonable expectation of return on investment.) Pass on this one.
I've been playing Empires and Puzzles 2 years. I enjoy it for what it is--a card-based RPG. This game is designed so that those who spend $$$ succeed, those who don't? Take a lot longer. At every turn there's another opportunity to spend $ in the game, and THIS aspect REALLY gets old after awhile. I've been in the same Alliance almost 2 years, and it's these friends I've made in game that keep me coming back. Otherwise, I'd be gone.
I love this game, it can be complicated or casual. Many are upset over nerfs and buffs that recently happened. I admit I have one of the nerfed heros, but I'm not upset about it. Just have me a reason to look at my teams a bit more and adjust. A game should be fun, not simply a 'i spent thousands a month to get the best HOTMs, so i will win'. It was getting tiring to see the same hero as tank in 90% of teams. Just my two cents.
I've played this game for two years. The game has become a pay to win vs a play to win. Even after investing lots of money trying to get a hero of the month (which is less than .1% chance of gaining) and, investing lots of resources, time, and energy to level them up the creaters lowered their stats rendering them worthless. If you want to advance be prepared to spend lots of $. A word of advice, be prepared to have your hard work ruined. The creaters are money hungry and back stabbing. 😠
