2. Create A Focus Playlist For Study Sessions
A lot of students like myself, listen to music videos on youtube. You know what I mean (like before Beyonce put her album on Spotify or Apple Music). That's fine when you aren't attempting to accomplish anything, but it's a risky move when you're trying to stay focused. We've all wandered onto some social media platform really quick and ended up down a rabbit hole of videos, tweets, posts, etc. Don't even tempt yourself by using Youtube to pick different songs. Plus, if you have a playlist there's no need to waste time looking for songs or skipping songs because you've created the perfect playlist. Every college student needs to have to-do lists. I see so many college students with physical/virtual sticky notes, and numerous calendar reminders because it really helps you to follow through on your tasks. Save the easier tasks for the end when you have less ability to focus.

My favorite virtual calendar is the Google Calendar because I love a visual representation of how my day is going to look. I am definitely a visual learner, so it helps to have a view that allows me to understand where and when I should fit in events or tasks. I love the color coordination as well because it prevents me from scheduling too many related events or tasks. I also use a physical planner to organize my work life and goals. I find both types are vital because my virtual calendar is easily accessible, so I can always write down my tasks quickly.
6. Stay Organized
Staying organized can help immensely with time management because you waste so much time if you aren't. If you can't find the rubrics, study guides, notes, and any other school-related items than your setting yourself up for unneeded success and lost time looking for these items. Also, staying organized in regards to assignments, exams, and extra-curriculars can help manage your time because it prevents procrastination. If your days are already planned out, then you aren't rushing the night before to start assignments or study for exams. Nothing sneaks up on you. Personally, I like to set reminders for all of my due dates atleast 4 days before, so I can get started early.
7. Block Your Courses
Blocking your courses is especially important for students who have to commute, but everyone should try to block their courses. I've been that student who thinks they will be so productive in between classes. WRONG! I would end up eating, talking or watching videos… Try to schedule your classes as back to back as possible for uninterrupted periods of getting things done.
